The kitchen here at Pemberley Bakes handles many ingredients, some of which may cause an allergic reaction when eaten in one of our cakes, bakes or cake by post treat box. At our premises we use wheat flour containing Gluten, Eggs, all types of dairy including Milk, Butter, Cream etc, Soya, Nuts, Peanuts and sprinkles or black treacle with Sulphur Dioxides.
We don't think anyone should miss out on delicious and beautiful cake so we are very happy to offer gluten free, egg free or nut free alternatives. However, our kitchen isn't completely free of allergens. Although we take every precaution to prevent cross-contamination it is still possible that traces of these allergens may be present in our ‘free-from’ products. If you, or someone you are ordering a cake for has a severe allergy then please consider contacting a specialist baker.
Pemberley Bakes is based in Bexleyheath/Barnehurst and is registered with the Food Standards Agency (FSA). We've been been granted a level 5 rating following a kitchen inspection with Bexley Council. Cake makers are required to register with their local council so they trade safely and legally. As owner and cake designer I have also completed and passed level 2 of the food safety and hygiene for catering course in the principles and practises of food safety.
All food businesses in the UK should be aware of the Food Standards Agency's (FSA) list of 14 allergens. As mentioned above, we use the following ingredients and allergens in our cakes and bakes: Wheat flour and cereals containing gluten, all types of dairy, eggs, soya, nuts, peanuts and sprinkles or black treacle with traces of Sulphur Dioxides.
